Hi, I'm Omar!
This personal website hosts selected academic papers from my time as an undergraduate at Yale University (Aug '18 - May '22) & showcases some of my creative interests.
Although I majored in biomedical engineering, a significant subset of the work on this site is an output of exploratory courses I took in the fields of literature, philosophy, history, computer science, & cognitive science.
I was last employed as a post-graduate research associate at the Yale School of Medicine's Clinical Neuroscience Group for Neuroanalytics, and recently moved to Paris to pursue computational neuroscience research.
My research with the Max Planck School of Cognition focuses on unravelling structural connectivity in the human brain using diffusion imaging & investigating the relationship between neural structure and neural function. Other academic interests include the study of human consciousness, cortical representation of language, & artificial intelligence.
Please take a look at some of my recent data-driven art pieces on the Portfolio section of my website if interested. Drafts are shared @Iridescent_asymptote on Instagram.
